Hemsworth Communications, a full-service public relations agency specializing in travel/tourism, hospitality, culinary, wine/spirits and lifestyle clients, today announced its expansion to New York City. The firm has hired Kate Wark, a seasoned travel and lifestyle PR professional, to serve as managing partner of Hemsworth NYC. The company is based in Fort Lauderdale, with offices in Atlanta and Orlando.

“Opening an office in New York City was a logical next step for us, as the New York metropolitan area is a media mecca and we are so frequently there, hosting and facilitating press events for our clients from around the world,” said Samantha Jacobs, founder and president of Hemsworth. “We are thrilled to have expanded our leadership team, and our capabilities, adding a seasoned veteran like Kate, who has such deep experience and outstanding relationships. There are incredible opportunities on the horizon for Hemsworth, and we’re excited to see what comes next!”

Prior to joining the Hemsworth team, Wark served as senior vice president of Carolyn Izzo Integrated Communications, where she was responsible for direction and leadership of travel, food, wine and spirits public relations campaigns, spearheaded event management, and managed the company’s internal communications and cultural programming. Her experience also includes account management and leadership roles at Eric Mower + Associates and Quinn.

Hemsworth recently won 12 Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Adrian Awards for its clients and ended 2017 up 41% year over year, ranking as one of the fastest-growing travel, tourism and hospitality PR firms according to O’Dwyer’s.
