Hemsworth Communications today announced it has been hired as the public relations agency-of-record for Orion Span, an innovative new company in the midst of developing the first-ever luxury space hotel. Named after the magical light phenomenon that illuminates the Earth’s polar skies, Aurora Station will offer a once-in-a-lifetime, authentic astronaut experience with 12-day trips beginning in 2022.

A 12-day journey to Aurora Station starts at $9.5M per person and deposits are now being accepted online at www.OrionSpan.com, at $80,000 each. Hemsworth has already begun execution of a comprehensive public relations strategy on behalf of Orion Span and Aurora Station, leveraging the agency’s extensive consumer travel, luxury and business media relationships to create awareness. The official launch took place during the recent Space 2.0 Conference in San Jose, California, and in the past week, Aurora Station been featured in more than 1,000 media outlets around the world including Robb Report, Conde Nast Traveler, CNN Travel, Fast Company, Space.com, World News Tonight with David Muir and more – ultimately leading to the first four months of reservations selling out. Hemsworth is also pursuing upscale brand partnerships to enhance the Aurora Station experience and will be showcasing the company’s executive team in various thought leadership campaigns.
The Orion Span team will be led by Kate Wark, who was recently appointed managing partner of Hemsworth’s newly launched NYC office, along with team members from Hemsworth Fort Lauderdale and Hemsworth Atlanta.
